High ceilings require extension ladders or working platforms for safe access. Four-panel doors have deep moulding profiles that need patient multi-coat work. We assess the room’s features during the quote visit and provide realistic timelines.

Children’s bedrooms in Doxford Park and Washington homes are typically simpler — smooth plasterboard, one or two feature walls, bright colours, and minimal trim. We use eggshell or scuff-resistant finishes on walls that take contact.

Colour selection is discussed during the quote. We bring samples and assess how colours sit in your room’s actual lighting — north and south-facing rooms look very different in the same colour.

One wall in a different colour — behind a bed or at the room’s focal point — creates visual interest without the complexity of painting the entire room in a bold shade. Feature walls work particularly well in rooms with alcoves or chimney breasts.

Bedroom ceilings accumulate dust and sometimes develop watermarks or crazing from age. We fill crazing with flexible filler, treat any staining with stain-blocking primer, then apply two coats of ceiling paint.
